My wife's family is originally from Atlanta and I too have become somewhat addicted to Diet Coke. I actually enjoy ordering it in Asia (China, Korea, and Japan) because just about every time I do, the waitress or waiter will crack a quick smile and I smile back. We both know exactly what is going on. The waitress/waiter is smiling because I have fulfilled his U.S. stereotype and I am smiling to join in the fun. It is a good icebreaker.

So yes, there are those of us who travel through Asia always ordering Cokes.
